Abstract


The low ability of mathematical communication in learning is very
important to note, because through mathematical communication students
can understand the function and purpose of mathematics both orally and in
writing. Number Head Together is a learning model that puts more emphasis
on student activity in searching, processing, and reporting information from
various sources that finally presented in front of class. Teams Games
Tournament (TGT) is one type or model of cooperative learning that is easy
to apply, involves the activities of all students without having any status
difference, involving the role of the student as a peer tutor and containing
elements of game and reinforcement. The purpose of research to determine
the ability of mathematical communication through learning model
combination between NHT and TGT. Researchers apply it to students of
class XI-MIPA6 SMA Negeri 9 Semarang. Type of research is qualitative
descriptive research, which this research focuses on problem of student's
mathematical communication ability. The result of data analysis show that
students' mathematical communication ability by applying combination
learning model between Numbered Head Togeter and Team Group of
Turnament in learning Matrix is increasing with marked with quiz prbadi as
many as 29 students from 35 students answered well and correctly on the
quiz no 1.
