Peningkatan Pengetahuan dan Keterampilan Menyusui pada Ibu Buruh Migran Indonesia dengan Pendekatan Experiential Learning di Kuala Lumpur

Abstract


Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi tantangan buruh migran Indonesia melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan praktis guna meningkatkan praktik menyusui. Buruh migran Indonesia di Kuala Lumpur masih memiliki keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan menyusui akibat akses informasi kesehatan, tuntutan kerja yang tinggi, dan kesulitan dalam membagi waktu. Metode pengabdian amsyarakat meliputi penyampaian ceramah dan pelatihan bagi buruh migran Indoensia di Malaysia dengan total sebanyak 50 buruh migran yang sedang hamil atau menyusui mengikuti sesi interaktif yang mencakup materi tentang manfaat ASI eksklusif, teknik menyusui yang benar, dan manajemen produksi ASI. Program ini menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif, termasuk diskusi kelompok, simulasi menyusui, dan bimbingan individu untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran dan pengembangan keterampilan. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, dengan peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 80% tentang manfaat ASI, posisi menyusui yang benar, serta teknik untuk mengatasi tantangan dalam menyusui. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa dukungan dan edukasi berkelanjutan dapat memberdayakan ibu migran untuk menjalankan praktik menyusui eksklusif secara efektif, meskipun mereka menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Inisiatif ini menegaskan pentingnya edukasi kesehatan yang terfokus untuk meningkatkan kesehatan ibu dan anak di komunitas pekerja migran.
