Abstract

The complexity of technology has changed the paradigm of society to be happy with instant things. It also extends to food processing and service. This research discusses the importance of education about halal and haram food in the current era of technology and food trends. STEAM learning can help students understand the concept to face the challenges of the 21st century. Important 21st-century competencies include communication skills, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and other literacy. The STEAM approach has become a major focus in education, with an emphasis on students' authentic involvement in STEM learning experiences centered on real-world problems. The integration of halal and haram food learning with the STEAM approach can teach students 21st century competencies that are important for the quality of human life.
