JSM focuses on community service issues, including services to the community and food security; training, marketing, appropriate technology, and design; community strengthening and social access; student community service programs; border and disadvantaged areas; and education for sustainable development.

All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, not under review elsewhere, and free from plagiarism. Accepted manuscripts undergo editorial screening and peer review by at least two reviewers.

JSM has been accredited SINTA 3 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, based on Decree Number 204/E/KPT/2022, valid from Volume 4 Number 1 to Volume 8 Number 2.

JSM is currently in the process of reaccreditation.

Ownership and Management Information

Jurnal Surya Masyarakat (JSM) is owned by Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus). The journal is published and institutionally managed by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM), Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. LPPM serves as the institutional publisher, while editorial responsibilities are carried out by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board.

The editorial team oversees manuscript evaluation, coordinates the double-blind peer-review process, and maintains the academic quality of published articles. Editorial decisions regarding manuscript acceptance are made by the editor based on reviewers' comments and recommendations.
