Declaration of Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence or bias their work.

Conflicts of interest may include:

  • research funding
  • employment
  • consultancies
  • stock ownership
  • honoraria
  • paid expert testimony

 

Transparency and Disclosure

Authors must include a conflict of interest statement in their manuscript.

Examples:

No conflict of interest

The authors declare that they have no competing interests.

Conflict disclosed

Author A has received research funding from [organization]. Author B serves as a consultant for [company].

 

Editorial and Reviewer Conflicts

Editors and reviewers must also disclose any conflicts of interest related to the manuscript.

Individuals with conflicts of interest must recuse themselves from the review or editorial decision-making process.
